The 5
th annual Seniors Running and Walking Festival will take place at the Vestal Coal House on September 7, 2019. This event is brought to you by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and Good Shepherd Communities, with support from Action for Older Persons, Broome County Office for Aging, the Triple Cities Runners Club and Vestal Coal House. Participants must be age 55 or older. The Festival includes a 1 mile run and walk, and a 5K run and walk. Wheelchair participants are welcome! Both events start at 8:30am. There is an optional seniors training program every Monday and Friday, from July 8 thru August 30, 6:30-7:30pm at the Coal House. This training program includes running, walking and exercise games to prepare you for the running and walking festival. Snacks and healthy smoothies are provided after each workout. The cost of the entire program, including the training session, participation in any race, and a t-shirt is $10. Awards will be given to top male and female and finishers and age group winners.
